Jayda is a 2nd year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at VCU. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at VCU in 2024, and has been a member of the AYA Research Team since 2019, where she began as an undergraduate research assistant. Currently, Jayda serves as the project coordinator for the ROOTED Endeavor project. Jayda’s research and clinical interests broadly focus on racial socialization and Black racial identity, with specific attention to how these processes unfold among Black military members and their families.
